Wow...this book was too long for it's content. How many times will I have to read, "India had a body women 20 years her junior would envy." There was nothing special about India except she was 40 something and easily manipulated by the physical and naive enough not to face the emotional aspects of her life and love life. it's bad enough when the 20 - 30 somethings are made to look immature...but over 40! The reference to secrets also became a pain. I was more than halfway through before any of it started to make sense (and that was after skipping through a lot of unnecessary writing). I would have enjoyed the book more with some background on the characters and the writing condensed. I didn't realize it was a continuation until the end credits listing the author's previous books. Knowing that may have changed my review...but I doubt it.

Illusions of Love All that Glitters Book 2 edition by Michelle Betham Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

What a terrific story! I read the first story and couldn't wait to read this continuation. I love how it unfolded-how easy it was to connect with all the characters! I was elated at how it ended)
I got this eBook when it was available as a free download from , it is the sequel to No Matter What. I was looking forward to finding out more about India's life and I couldn't wait to see where her crazy celebrity world would take me this time.

The prologue was dark and clearly indicated that someone wanted revenge - I came up with a few ideas as to who it might be and in the end it turned out that one of my ideas was correct (I do love being right ). The author then refreshed my memory of all the main points from the previous book and this meant that I quickly fell back into the storyline. I was excited to find out what each of the characters were doing now, it kind of felt like I was catching up with old friends.

Dominic was an interesting new character, he had a secret that I couldn't wait to be revealed and when it was I can't say that I was too shocked because there had been a few hints.

The main characters were all taking part in a new movie which was being filmed in Vegas and the scenes on set made me laugh because it seemed that everybody was keeping an eye on everybody else - Michael was watching India, Reece was watching Michael watching India and so on.

The whole Jimmy Cash nightmare brought huge amounts of tension to the storyline and as that tension grew I felt more and more nervous about what his plans might be.

As with the first book India had lots of men who wanted to be with her, she was a very popular lady but throughout both books there was one particular man who I hoped she would choose - and yes I admit that I yelled at my on a few occasions willing her to choose who I felt was the right man for her.

A confrontation that I had eagerly anticipated since the first book didn't go as I had expected and once again I found myself gasping in shock at what happened. When the showdown finally did happen it was everything I had hoped it would be - intense, dramatic and emotional.

Towards the end I was holding my breath waiting to find out what had happened at the party - it was all revealed in the epilogue and let me tell you, it was very exciting! The final few pages were perfect in my opinion and I actually shouted `YAY' out loud causing my dog to start barking like crazy , it was a wonderful ending and left me with a big smile on my face.

The authors writing style was comfortable and captivating. Michelle did a fantastic job of keeping me guessing, there were just so many twists and turns that kept me turning page after page. I think this would work as a standalone read but I would recommend reading the first book to give you a more complete picture and a better understanding of the characters and their actions. I could definitely see these books on-screen, whether that be as a movie or television series.

This book contained strong language and sexual scenes so if you are likely to be offended by this then it probably isn't for you.

Filled with high drama and deception, this was another rollercoaster read that captivated me from start to finish.
For me there was really one thing wrong with the book, but it was so bad that I couldn't finish it. The main character, India, is deeply annoying. She is so selfish and immature, and a 40 something mother of two at that. I stoped because I was mad the entire time I was reading it.
This is one of the best I have read in a while! A great sequal to No Matter What. Keeps you guessing at who India will end up with and in the end, it was exactly as I wanted it to be!!
And thanking heavens that I did not pay for this book!! I did finish the book, though after the 1,000th "he/she threw his/her head back and laughed/sighed" I wanted to chuck my across the room. The characters were all very shallow and self-serving, maybe why I'm not a big celebrity crazy type of person!
I really don't know what I was thinking in picking up this book after being so disappointed in the first book - I guess that I hoped things would be different. Once again I found India to be incredibly annoying, immature, selfish and just very frustrating. I am happy with the ending, but really both of these books would have been better served amalgamated into one book, with some of the self serving situations removed. I really enjoyed other novels by this author, but could not stand the main character in these two books. I mean really, there just cannot be a 43 year old woman in the world that is as delusional as India can there? Don't you reach an age where you are a little more self aware and less selfish, especially after having children? I could go on and on about how much I hated this character, but I think that you get my point.
This is a pretty long book, just like it's predecessor, but I read this so quickly because I couldn't put it down! After all the questions I had when I finished the first book, I had to figure it out! The great thing about this book though is that where many sequels are simple just used for tying up loose ends, this book actually had a really unique and intricate story that just happened to tie up the loose ends as it went. I loved it. My coworkers got to the point where they'd start asking what was happening in the book because it drove me crazy and I had no idea what would happen so I had to talk about it! It was really good and if you liked the first book, you'll love this one. Great ending, too!
